Dining Room Inspiration

Our dining room table arrived yesterday 🙌 This is a huge deal for me, we have lived in our home for TWO years, TWO years! I know furnishing your home is always something to look forward to but I have dreamed about this for two years. Right before we purchased the table, my hubby looked at me and said “are you sure this is the one you want?” Without hesitation I said “Yes, it’s been on my inspiration board for TWO years.” 😂 When we toured the house for the first time before purchasing, the previous owners had a long rectangle dining room table. After moving in and renovating the space we noticed the dining room has an oval shape to it, so we decided on a round dining table. I am very excited about the table being round. When I think of round dining tables I think of special occasions, such as, weddings, reunions, brunches etc… I think this shape is so personal and allows all guests to engage with each other, I look forward to our first dinner party! Below are two photos of our dining room before.

Inspiration boards are my go to for everything! Furniture, parties, holidays, Lulu’s first birthday, I create one no matter what. I am a very visual person so they really help me bring my visions to life. I highly recommend this tool when designing. My goal in 2021 is to learn photoshop, currently I organize my boards on powerpoint. Powerpoint is great for an inspiration board but Photoshop will allow me to really create a rendering of each room. Here is my original inspiration board. I see blush and gold with a touch of marble when I think of our dining room 😍

For the big items we stayed pretty close to my inspiration board. I’ll link the furniture pieces we ended up purchasing below –

Once all the big furniture is in and the chandelier is installed the fun begins. I am so excited to style this room. I will be sure to post an update once it is complete! I am still debating on a hutch, do you prefer a hutch in your dining room?! Let me know in the comments below!
